J. Henry Lefkowitz, 80, of 1419 E. Genesee St., died today in University Hospital following a short illness. Born in New York City, Mr. Lefkowitz lived in Syracuse for 35 years. President of Tzedek Ve Emeth Cemetery Assoc. for 25 years, he serviced as Secretary of Queen Esther Lodge, Progressive Order of the West, and Samuel Central City Lodge, IOBA. He was a member of Philadelphia Lodge, FAM in Rochester, and of Temple Adath Yeshurun here. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Hattie G. Lefkowitz; two sons, Myron S. Leffert and David J. Leffert of Syracuse; two daughters, Mrs. Jessie J. Hafter and Mrs. Jacob H. Rubenstein; 8 grandchildren and a great grandson. Services will be conducted in the Birnbaum Funeral Home at noon tomorrow, Cantor Harold Lerner and Dr. Fred Krinsky officiating. Burial will be in Tzedek Ve Emeth Cemetery.
