ONEIDA WOMAN, 53, DIES WHILE BEING TAKEN TO THE HOSPITAL, MRS. CHARLES NEWFIELD, NATIVE OF SYRACUSE
Oneida -- Mrs. Chartles Newfield, 53, of 529 Lenox Avenue, a native of Syracuse, died suddenly Monday night as she was being taken in an ambulance from her home to Broad Street Hospital. Mrs. Newfield had been in failing health since she underwent an operation Syracuse Memorial Hospital two years ago. She apparently was on the way toward recovery when stricken early in the evening. The Police ambulance was summoned and Dr. R. G. Kellner rode with her on the trip to the hospital. She was pronounced dead upon arrival. Mrs. Newfield moved to Oneida shortly after her marriage 27 years ago. Surviving besides her husband, are two sons, Harold Newfield of Florida and Victor Newfield of Buffalo; and two daughters, Mrs. Lillian Markham of Syracuse and Miss Anna Newfield of Oneida. Funeral services will be conducted at the home of Mrs. Markham, 104 Greenwood Place, Syracuse, at 2 p.m. Tues. afternoon with burial at Jamesville Gate Cemetery.
